vs. Stanton Prep - Mar 26, 2008

The Bulldogs traveled to Coach Andrews’ old neck of the woods to play the team he brought to a varsity status in 2006, Stanton Prep. Stanton Scored first, but not for long. The bulldogs started off by Sophomore Cole Tesh (#2) He scored with a great quick stick from a feed by Dan Kleinschmit (#3)(2-1 for the night). Tesh and Senior Matt Whaley (#11) lead the night with three goals a piece. Stand out plays were made by Junior James Adame (#22) who scored with an impressive dive threw two defenders and flicked the ball backhand into the net. Junior George Faris (#16) had a great “garbage” goal while the ball was on the ground in front of the cage, he swatted like a golf swing to put the ball in the back of the cage. Junior Jackson Tollas (#15) was amazing, winning the draw on 20 of 23 face-offs. He also scored one goal on a face-off fast break.

vs. Pedro Menedez - Mar 19, 2008

The Bulldogs played an exhilarating game against Pedro Menendez. It was a fast paced game, literally, until the very end. The Flagler game winning goal came from George Faris (#16) with only 1:03 left in the 4th quarter. FPC came out on top 8-7 at the end of regulation. It could have easily been tied up by a late penalty that put the bulldogs in a man down situation with only 15 seconds left in the game. The Bulldog defense made some great plays and made sure Menendez didn’t get the ball even close for the tie, which would have forced overtime.

The Falcons scored first and earned a 2-0 lead in the first. The dogs pulled through and got momentum from back to back goals, first by senior attackman Dan Kleinschmit (#3) who had 2goals and 4 assists for the evening. And then by junior face-off specailst Jackson Tollas (#15). He won the face off after Kleinschmits goal and took it to the cage himself for a beautiful goal. To give the Bulldogs the first lead of the night was Sophmore Jeff Allar (#9) during a perfect man up opportunity.

Other stand outs go to Senior Matt Whaley (#11) who had two goals, junior Jake Lachiusa (#5) who was 1-1 and picked up 9 groundballs and Sophomore defender David Lloyd (#17) who made some critical take-away checks and was able to clear the ball to Flagler’s offensive end. But the Most crucial play of the night came from junior goalie TJ Loftus who dug deep to pull off 5 well needed point blank saves in the fourth quarter.

Lose to Winter Springs - Mar 18, 2008

St. Patrick ’s Day. The luck of the Irish was upon the purple team and not the green last night as we traveled to Winter Springs on Coach Holloways birthday. The Bulldogs played well last night to score 6 beautiful goals on Florida’s #5, Winter Springs. The bears are a deep team with plenty of college potential by its many senior players. Springs, senior star, Taylor Roop (#15) went for 9 points (3-6) last night for the bears. The Bulldogs pulled out 2 solid quarters of lacrosse but couldn’t put it together for 48 full minutes. The final score WS 20, 6 FPC.

FPC Offense was led by junior standout Jake Lachiusa (#5), Who had an amazing night scoring 3 text-book goals against one of the best teams around. Senior Dan Kleinschmit (#3) was a hit with his two dribble and dunk top shelf goals. The 6th goal came from sophomore Jeff Allar (#9). Allar caught the ball in the air after a shot by Lachiusa that hit the pipe and bounced 90 degrees right to Allar. The defense was still turned towards Lachiusa and freed Allar up for a beautiful time-and-room shot.
