The 2nd FPC alumni game: Alumni – 11 Varsity team – 7.

The first half started off rusty for both teams. Luke Russel (05’) had some nice moves and tried to sneak a behind the back shot past Zach Wheeler,  but the pipes proved too much for the old All American. The alumni scored first with a quick handle goal by Jeff Lavino who was almost struck by a shot that we will call a “bad pass” from Chris Cantano(00’).  Varsity was quick to answer back with two quick goals by sophomore John Allar and senior James Adame. While Alumni continued to dust off their sticks, Jeff Ocampo(08’) helped them and scored to tie it up. Some great work by both team’s goalies kept the game fairly even, both teams were tied after the first quarter. At the start of the second quarter both teams finally got it together and Alumni scored two unanswered goals by Chris Ewart(07’) and Dan Kleinschmit(08’). The second quarter had some extreme effort by LSM Brady Juleson, who dove in the air, backwards to swat a ball back into play.

At the start of the second half the Varsity boys got a little extra boost and scored three back to back goals on the guest appearance by Danny.  Jeff Allar received a great feed from Tim Pena’s clear and was able to squeeze a shot pass Mike Jones(05’). Cole Tesh took a huge outside shot and bounced it to the top corner. After Coles goal, Tim Pena took a righty rip from a dodge straight down the alley to put the Varsity up by a goal. Varsity goalie Zach Wheeler took a nasty shot and injured his thumb, varsity then put  freshman goalie Connor Bertha in the cage. He stood tall and made some great saves and slowed the pace of the game but Will Rockey had a nice up close and personal shot to tie it up and then John Baldwin(07’) bounced it past Zach Wheeler. Rockey closed down the 3^rd quarter with another goal to put the old guys up and a score of 7-5. In the Fourth the Varsity’s lack of experience allowed the Alumni to score four more goals, some quick (slow motion) crease movement from Alex Morse(04’) gave him two goals and Josh Hawes(08’)and Chris Ewart(07’)each had one goal and kept the Alumni ahead for the rest of the game. Varsity was able to create some opportunities and scored two more goals. Tim Pena added a goal and John Allar ended the game with their second of the day.

take 95 south to I-4 East.  Take I-4 east to exit 101B which is the 417 (Greeneway).  Take the 417 (Toll Road) to 434, get of at 434 and turn right.  Take 434 to Tuskawilla Rd and turn left.  On Tuskawilla the first light is Trotwood Blvd, take a left and the park is on the right 1/8mi up.

For the 2nd time the FPC lacrosse team will be having an alumni game. All FPC lacrosse alumni are invited to come back for a day of lacrosse and memories. The day will consist of an Alumnus vs. FPC game, a picnic afterwards, raffle and prizes and tons of reminiscing.

Cost:

FPC Alumni – $50.00 (“alumni” game pinny, FPC 2009 t-shirt, picnic)

Additional guests for picnic – $10.00 (picnic and game ticket)
