FPC VS. ST AUGUSTINE - Feb 22, 2014

FPC 8 St. Augustine 10

A tough district loss last night to rivals St. Augustine. Last season the bulldogs lost to SA three times (10-9, 10-9 and 9-8) all by one goal.

Things looked like they could be different this year but the results were almost identical.

Sloppy mistakes and forced errors cost the bulldogs the scoring opportunities they needed to pull off the win. 25 shot opportunities for the bulldogs only found the net 8 times.

“We had a lot of shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net. I think we hit the goalie or pipe on 4 or 5 occasions.” Said Coach Lance Conant.

Stand out FPC players were Mike Forte earning a hat-trick and 1 assist and Paul Pechmann and Alec Noble each scoring 2 goals.

St. Augustine played well and were a bit more disciplined when it came to offensive situations. Attackman Robbie Gober had three goals for the Yellow Jackets.

The Bulldogs will see the Jackets again in two weeks and will need to capitalize on every opportunity they get in front of the net to pull of a district win.
